Our Story

We build lifelong relationships with our members to help them achieve their full financial potential now and into the future.

FLAG Credit Union was originally chartered to serve the employees of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). While we have expanded our field of membership and community access, we continue to highlight our proud roots and ongoing dedication to the FDACS.

1960
FLAG CU was chartered to serve the employees of the FL Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services. We started by taking small deposits and selling postage stamps in a state building downtown.
1985
We moved into our first free-standing office. This doublewide trailer parked at the Lab Complex was renovated to fit the needs of our budding credit union.
1994
We moved into our current location.
2001
Our credit union family grew by merging in the Forestry and Conservation Credit Union.
2012
FLAG received a low-income designation from the NCUA as we proudly serve the underserved.
2017
We renovated our branch interior to match our updated brand. We embraced the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services by rolling out a new sprig logo and green-focused color palette.
2019
Updated our electronic services offering with a new mobile app with increased features and the ability join and borrow all online!

Supporting the Underserved

We offer products and services that serve the needs of ALL our members. With the intent of providing products that support the underserved, we introduced no-credit-check-loans to help build credit or meet other short-term needs, share secured loans, and debt-consolidation loans to help get members out of high-cost debt.

Fostering Free Financial Education

We provide free financial education courses for local groups and through professional development programs at our select employee groups.

Cultivating Relationships that Go the Distance

FLAG has one physical location but our members range from Tallahassee to Key West. We have worked hard to implement a seamless process for serving members across the entire state of Florida completely electronically. Our members can accomplish everything from originating a loan to managing their accounts all without stepping foot in our branch. We are a small credit union with the convenience of a big bank.
