Upon the payoff of your loan, typically within the first two weeks after the close of each month, your lien will be released. You may receive either a paper or electronic title.
Paper titles: If the paper title is available, it is signed and mailed to the member.
Electronic Titles: Can be viewed at www.flhsmv.gov/MVCheckWeb/InquiryView.aspx
If you choose to have a paper title printed and mailed to you, go to www.flhsmv.gov/VirtualOffice. A minimal service/mailing fee will apply or a paper title can be obtained at your local tax collector officers, fees will apply.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle will continue to store your title electronically and encourage owners to keep it electronic until the paper title is actually needed. Electronic title or “e-titles” are titles for motor vehicles, mobile homes, or vessels held electronically, thus eliminating the risk of damage, loss, or fraudulent use. E-titles prove ownership the same way as a paper title. An owner can easily see the status of his/her title, including an indication of “Electronic Title” via the Department’s website
